Can You Make Money Online with Blogs and Ads?
Let's go straight to the point: yes, it is possible to make money from blogging. However, it takes time and hard work.
When you try to learn how to make money from blogging, you will likely meet many people who will advise you to join programs and/or to buy books and courses which will take you nowhere. So, you must do your research and always take everything you read with a grain of salt.
If you want to make money with a blog, this is what you can do:
1. Decide which topic you will write about. Make sure you choose one specific topic. Also make sure there are enough people out there interested in the subject, if you want to have readers. No readers, no money.
2. See if you can produce new blog posts on the chosen topic regularly. The more quality posts, the merrier. Large amounts of fresh, good content keep people coming back for more. This also increases your chances of being found via search engines like Yahoo! and Google.
2. a. Did I mention you must produce new content regularly?
2. b. If you feel you'll lack the time (or the patience, or the inspiration, or all of these) to write new posts on a regular basis, you may need to hire someone to write for you. The advantage of hiring professional writers is that they can also be your consultants, helping you choose appropriate topics which will increase your chances of making money.
2. c. If you don't want to invest money in professional writing services, you can try to persuade some friends or fellow bloggers to write for free.
3. After choosing the topic and making sure you'll be able to produce lots of content about it, it's time to buy a domain name for your blog and to choose a web hosting provider. Yes, you can start a free blog at Blogger/Blogspot or other places, but it's not recommended. You'd better have full control and ownership over your blog.
4. Pick a good blog platform when you are ready to build the blog. I recommend that you use WordPress, which is free to download. Many web hosting companies offer a one-click WordPress installation though, so you won't have to download anything.
5. Start adding content to your new blog, or have your writer(s) do it for you.
